Pros

Centerstone was my 1st job out of grad school. They have great values and mission. I will always appreciate that I worked at Centerstone and it helped my career. All of my successful professional skills came from working at Centerstone. I worked in multiple clinics and structures so I got to see more than some. You get to see everything, good and bad, and you learn how to work under various pressure and constraints and still be successful. I most enjoyed my fellow coworkers. They were all hardworking and truly made my time there more enjoyable.

Cons

The pressure for clinical staff can be insurmountable at times with no structured administrative time, productivity standards and community mental health frequent no shows. It's especially difficult to appreciate time off without feeling that you are potentially punished by not working every day of every month. The management doesn't always seem to care and at times actively work against their staff which creates a tense and toxic work environment. Sometimes management is not always honest with their staff I think that management also has some high level of expectations that can be a bit unrealistic causing staff to not get the adequate level of support when needed. New staff sink or swim and old staff get used to figuring it out on their own. Sometimes you don't see or hear from management at all until something is wrong. There is absolutely no real quality control as to what is happening in sessions or work with clients. Much of what people do is inconsistent with quality care and effective practice according to research and it appears that Centerstone is not able to manage this. Financially, Centerstone seems unstable, laying off chunks of staff while rapidly expanding to other states. This happened a few times during my time there. In some Centerstone environments there seems to be budgets for fun things such as birthday celebrations while in other environments, there seems to be a void in anything that could add morale or enjoyment to hard working staff.

Pros

Overtime. Coworkers are the most enjoyable part.

Cons

Supervisors do not listen. You do not get a response to emails. Are belittled in the hallway about personal mentality where other coworkers can hear. No FIRE safety standards up to date!! No care for staff mental or physical wellbeing. No urgency when exposed to bodily fluids.
