Pros
Working on a fantastic, friendly team. Love how easy it is to refer patients to other services and get them wraparound care. And I love how much the organization genuinely wants to help others. You won't find a more compassionate group of people.
Cons
CCC sees how much need is out there and understandably wants to make it better, but they don't realize that they have to protect their clinicians if they're going to make a difference. They keep loading their substance use counselors up with higher and higher caseloads, diminishing the ability to give quality care. My team is burned out and exhausted. Caseloads are way too mixed in terms of acuity; you get the level 1 people who just need a tune-up who are in group with the level 3.5 people with severe PTSD, TBIs, and behavioral issues. This is workable when you have a caseload of 15-20 and can really work with each person to reduce triggers and reactivity, but once you get to 35 all you can do is just hope you make it through the next two hours without anything getting set on fire.
