Pros
-Supportive department that values hard work and passion to help students
Cons
-As stated in the headline, it is great experience working in higher education. However, our department does the most work, get paid the least, and gets the least amount of respect and support from the University. Success Coaches get treated worse than step children. -HR has no clue about policies or benefits. They tell you one thing at orientation then you find out later that the information was not accurate. -Pay is extremely low -Lacks upward mobility. No type of pay increase with advanced degrees. -Faculty is not proactive and waits to the last minute to inform how a student is doing in class instead of issuing early alerts -Values preached are not the values present at the university
