Pros

Learned quite a lot. Really liked my supervisor, my coworker was super sweet, looked up to my manager.

Cons

Not-great training Not the greatest management - gossip, politics, they play favorites. Was managed extremely strictly. Reports had to be perfect and thorough and exactly the same every time. I processed invoices thoroughly as I was trained but was told I was too slow— on a regular basis. Was trained to do everything the “long way.” Spent too much time/energy on the details and it was hard to hold grasp of the big picture meaning of the information. Definitely got the message that I was LOWEST on the totem pole so there was not much space for complaining etc. - I took on the work load and did my best to not get in anyone’s way. Was noticeably excluded by senior accountants. The co-worker I was supposed to work with looked down on me, didn’t trust me, moved to Texas and quit. Culture was tense and depressing most of the time. Didn’t see my manager very much. I gave this job all I had. 110% I was doing school in the evenings and keeping up with work. Never complained. I was tired all the time. I was training a new hire. I was looking forward to when everyone was back in the office. I had earned having my job protected by my manager or at least transferred to another department. I wanted to stay. Was let go after working all night. They just.. gave up on me.

Pros

I honestly can't think of any.

Cons

I worked in a corporate role at Centuri and honestly the biggest issue was leadership and culture. There was no focus on efficiency or improving processes. Work was often made harder than it needed to be because management resisted change and did not seem interested in modernizing how things were done. It felt like people spent more time working around broken systems than actually fixing them. Management also lacked basic leadership skills. I never had a goal setting meeting, performance evaluation, or meaningful coaching conversation the entire time I was there. There was very little investment in employee development or career growth. The environment became draining because negativity came from the top down. There was constant complaining about employees, other departments, workloads, and leadership decisions, but very little accountability or action to improve anything. Culture clearly was not a priority. The experience itself helped me build resilience, but I would not recommend the company to someone looking for strong leadership, mentorship, or organization.
