      Incredible work environment - Software Engineer Cerence AI Employee Review

      Pros

      I'm writing this review since a lot of people may not have heard of Cerence but have gotten an offer from them and are contemplating joining. I was one of you too :) I have now been working here for ~ 4 months But let me tell you that Cerence is a really good company. It is also listed on NASDAQ (if that helps scratch the suspicious itch in your mind) The work environment is really really good. Everyone is more than willing to help you with your problems/give you advice and everyone understands that everyone is equally important in the team You can choose your working hours. And it is absolutely acceptable to decline meetings outside your working hours. The pay is very good. A lot of the cutting edge technologies in today's day and age are used at Cerence as it is predominantly an AI and NLU focussed company.

      Pros

      Overall, I enjoyed my experience at Cerence. I learned a lot, grew significantly, and met many great people from around the world.

      Cons

      The number of reorganizations and layoffs took a huge toll on the company culture and morale. The company's vision and strategy was hard to pin down as well, which made my job more challenging in a less than ideal way. It was also frustrating that the tuition reimbursement advertised upon signing was actually dependent on department budgets and discretion, so I never had the chance to use it.
