Pros

Great opportunity to work with the brightest minds from around the world at a company leading the industry in AI innovation. Growing emphasis on culture, wellbeing, personal development, training, communication and people. Changes based on employee feedback. New affinity groups for diversity, parenting and women in tech is creating a more inclusive and connected environment. We’ve remained incredibly successful throughout the pandemic (147% bonus!). I’m able to work from home. I guess experiences vary by manager, but I lucked out and got THE BEST! Fun events like Employee Appreciation Week where they gave away TONS of moulah every hour!!

Cons

While it's a well-established, successful business, it's also a start-up culture just over a year old (spun off from Nuance). We're figuring out who we are and building a great company and learning from mistakes. The work can be CHALLENGING and the hours can be long, but when you love what you do, it's not "work"!

Pros

Overall, I enjoyed my experience at Cerence. I learned a lot, grew significantly, and met many great people from around the world.

Cons

The number of reorganizations and layoffs took a huge toll on the company culture and morale. The company's vision and strategy was hard to pin down as well, which made my job more challenging in a less than ideal way. It was also frustrating that the tuition reimbursement advertised upon signing was actually dependent on department budgets and discretion, so I never had the chance to use it.
