Don't be fooled by the latest and surprisingly positive comments. HR has finally opened the Glassdoor page and are starting to respond to comments.
There is clearly a difference between developer and manager. See the pros and cons in the comments of the different employees and you will see that in Cerence it is better to be a manager than a developer.
Developers are :
- underpaid and managers ask developers to work overtime but they are not paid
- not recognized (unless you have a manager who really does his or her job, rare in Cerence)
The workload has become a mess at Cerence.
All of our seniors are leaving (with the knowledge of the company) and instead Cerence is hiring juniors in Pune and HR considers that the problem is solved... but :
- the people hired are all juniors who sometimes don't even know the basics
- the time zone difference between Pune and Montreal doesn't help the knowledge transfer
All this adds an extra workload to the people who stay in Cerence.
A tip :
- for those who work at Cerence (stop working overtime) if the planning is not realistic, then too bad... managers and salers need to learn how to do a planning with realistic deadlines.
By doing this you are either working for free or you are reducing your hourly rate. In both cases it's Cerence who wins, not you. Life is short, enjoy ;)
- For those who are NOT at Cerence and are thinking about coming.
If you are not good... well you are lucky HR at Cerence doesn't make big efforts for the recruitment so you have all the chances to be taken ..(sadly true :/ )
