I love that we have a generous amount of PTO given each year, however, I do not think it's right to penalize someone from a vacation or doctor's appointment if they don't have sufficient PTO accrued. If you get an approval from your supervisor for leave you should be able to not be paid not written up. Don't work/ don't get paid. There is a lot of favoritism when it comes to advancement within the company. I don't feel like you should have to "kiss up" to advance, your hard work should speak for itself. I think there should be management training offered and encouraged for those that are interested in pursuing that. Also, reviews should be done often. Not necessarily for raise purposes but for evaluation purposes. If we don't know how we are doing, how are we supposed to do better?
