Pros
The best job of my career so far. Great manager and colleagues. Useful work experience in a very fast-growing industry. Interfacing regularly with lots of customers, salespeople, product engineers, and others internally and externally.
Cons
Product line is way too complicated. Sales engineers are expected to know pretty much everything with no specialization. After Joe Howard left, we pivoted to expensive tech support instead of creating new value. Internal documentation was abysmal and it was difficult to get a straight answer on a product feature or timeline. Leadership has a very hard time saying no to new business, grasping at straws to achieve profitability by the end of 2024. This led to high levels of confusion, uncertainty, and a general sense of having no direction, mission, or purpose.
