Pros

The people are great, benefits are decent and include a sabbatical every 5 years, The new campus in Lone Tree is nice, lots of opportunities to network outside of you daily grind.

Cons

Management, management, management. As in most large organizations it depends on where you work. This company does not value workers over 40 unless you want to work part-time sitting on a phone. The technology management is a Visa click-club at best. The culture wasn't much better before all of the changes occurred with the real estate strategy that was implemented over the last 5 years. Hiring only those that they know and devaluing anyone who has worked there over 2 years. Diversity is quickly going out of the window unless you are from India. Getting forced out is not unusual it's part of the normal culture if they think you are not a fit. Don't bother trying to jump through any hoops to please, the effort will just be ignored. There is absolutely no career path and unless you are a golden child, plan on staying in the same role for your career at Schwab, especially if you are at management level.

Pros

Excellent launch point for a successful career in finance Opportunity for promotion GREAT colleagues Managers are amazing Meaningful professional development time: Schwab is huge and there are lots of departments you can have very successful careers in. There are coaches you can speak to for career guidance, and you are allocated a certain number of hours per quarter to explore/think about/develop your career. Good work life balance NO COLD CALLING

Cons

Inbound call center role with many different KPIs. It can be difficult to consistently meet all of them month over month, but if you do, you will be rewarded. You will be expected to put out fires for upset clients, which doesn't happen too often, but can be difficult. Licensing exams are usually a condition of employment depending on which call center you work in. The exams are not easy and some struggle to pass them.

Thanks for the balanced review. Growth and development remain priorities, and it is good to hear you have seen that firsthand. It’s great to see the support from managers, strong colleagues, and the career development resources making a difference. Client-facing roles can be demanding at times, and supporting employees with resources remains a focus. Feedback that highlights both strengths and gaps gives a more complete picture. We will make sure this input is shared through the right channels.

Cons

-2 year role commitment -Very corporate so might not let be your true self in the job with peers.
