Pros
The best reason to work for Charles Schwab is that they pay you to study and take your FINRA tests. Additionally, the amount that you learn in your first year is incredible, you have to learn about derivatives, equities, fixed income, trading, hedging and not lonely learn this but be able to explain these ideas to others (clients). Generally you are fairly compensated for your time and amount of work you have to do. Also, you are total immersed in a very wide rage of investment strategies some good and many not so good. It's a great place to get your licenses.
Cons
There are only a few downsides to working at Charles Schwab, but they are in my opinion major. First and foremost are the hours that you to work. If you choose to work odd hours they pay an extra 10%. Yes you do get days off to make up for the strange hours but who wants to work nights and weekends. Second downside, Schwab is more than happy to hire people from outside the company to do a position that you (an employee) are more than qualified for. But if you do get a better job with normal hours you will more than likely have to take a pay cut to do it . See the 10% extra above.
