Pros
The few team members that are left are fantastic!
Cons
I'd love to say that Charlie Health is solving the mental health crisis. Unfortunately, that seems to only be the case when the outcome = profits. I was at Charlie Health for over a year and, while it was never the most compassionate and empathetic work place in the world, it was leagues better than what it's become. This company has led to the mental and emotional downfall of far too many amazing people, including top contributors. Leadership is apathetic to the wellbeing of their team and instead chooses to focus on numbers, profit, and selling a few more copies of their positivity book. Leaders of this team are out of touch and ill equipped to support the CL's in reaching the unattainable KPI's that they set. They make up for the poor numbers with extreme micromanagement, constant pressure, a doubling of expected call volume, and ever-changing, impulsive requirements for how you spend your day. If your activities are low for the day, expect a slack dm wondering how you've been spending your time (despite the public calendar you're also made to keep up to date). Feedback is not well received and not often taken into account. We haven't even had consistent KPI's for over a few months in a row, making the team ineligible for promotion, raises, etc. As a note for prospective employees, do yourself a favor and negotiate if you receive an offer. The pay practices here (and especially in this role as it's less respected than actual outreach managers) are predatory. When I spoke to my manager and my manager's manager about the impact of these things, it was often met with deflection, dismissal, invalidation, etc. The conversation that solidified my choice to leave Charlie Health ended with the sentiment that everyone in the company was feeling as terrible as I was and it won't change so I may as well get over it. Unfortunately, I'm not the only employee with this experience. There's a senior member of the org that's been reported to HR at least 3 times that I know about for bullying and creating unsafe work environments... and is still managing people and thriving in the company. I was also in a meeting where the VP of Outreach said anyone even mentioning the words burnout, and/or work-life-balance in an interview would be automatic red flag/no-hires. At a mental health company. Charlie Health is a fantastic idea ruined by "leaders" that don't have the emotional capacity to support their team.
