Pros

Good Benefits Market Leader, Checkr is genuinely the best product for background checks Good work/life balance

Cons

1) No career path 2) Growing without a plan. The company just continues hiring without promoting internally, while not adjusting the systems to work for the new sudden growth. This leads to a lot more people getting a smaller piece of the pie, especially on the sales side. 3) Culture has completely changed with new executives. They recently brought in a bunch of high ranking people from outside the company to run things, and it's made it so that as an individual contributor, your voice will not be heard. If you want to assist them with what they want done, they'll listen. However, if you have any sort of issue, or if what's being done negatively impacts your work, they don't care. You have a bunch of high ranking execs making decisions without actually listening to the people doing the work. This has given Checkr a much more corporate feel and eliminated the ability to make any sort of real changes or impact, which is the most fun part of working at a startup. Rather than talk about things that concern people, all we hear about is "building your internal brand." This basically means to kiss up to people and bend the knee. They don't want individuals with their own thoughts and ideas, they just want people who fit a specific mold and will tow the line. Diversity isn't just about race, it's also about ideas and perspectives, and Checkr is failing on that front. Like someone else has said in another review, it's become cult-like. The positive reviews are from the bot-like employees (trust me, there are a lot here) that enjoy that. 4) Poor leadership. Even though they're trying to IPO and move off of being considered a startup, Checkr is still a startup in many ways, but only the bad ways. Systems wise, structure wise, there are so many things that are broken, but they're ignored in favor of continuing to build and grow the business. The internal systems are bad and messy, but there's zero effort to improve them. That comes down to bad leadership and is negatively affecting everyone else outside of the executive bubble. 5) High turnover. This is fairly recent, primarily surrounding new hires. People who have been here a while already have their relationships and networks to do the jobs well. But new people are being sold on a dream, only to get here and realize that they're not being set up for success at all.

Pros

Great insurance. Learning Stipends, etc

Cons

-Senior leadership only cares about what is new and shiny. -They treat AI like a religion. Forcing everyone to use AI for everything as though we don't realize that the end goal is to eliminate our roles - All Hands Meetings every month where Senior Leadership pats themselves on the back while ignoring any existing issues. - Support is treated like a necessary evil instead of a fundamental part of doing business. Would prefer to ship the roles overseas or replace with AI - Extremely high attrition for Senior Leadership.
