Pros
Working as a Hostess is probably the easiest job in the entire restaurant, and even though there can be some people that are irrationally angry, you only deal with them for a very short amount of time. Is a good starting job as it can be stressful enough to teach a person how to handle it, but not enough to make you want to quit. Teamwork is important and there can be lots of downtime to talk and socialize. Also, half off discount on most food!
Cons
30 minute breaks only given when working two shifts in a day, and regardless of how many hours you work. Management and how they treat you are pivotal -- you will have bad managers that you will hate, and good managers you will love. Nobody cleans the bathroom so you end up having to, even though it's not necessarily something you were told you had to do when applying/in your pamphlet/when hired etc. Everything dependent on the mood of the people around you.
