Before COVID: Many smart, talented, well-meaning colleagues to complain about the company with. Now: nothing.
Cons
The CEO is, and has been for a very long time, the epitome of toxic cronyism. He only values the opinions of those who agree with him. He is shredding the support departments, and is ruining the company as a result. People are leaving in droves. He will turn the company into a defense contractor eventually, if he deems it (or rather, someone tells him it's) "innovative." Don't believe anything about the mission statement or caring about you or your work-life balance. You are a cog, and an inexpensive one, at that. You will do what the company wants, when it wants; and if you don't, you will be replaced by the thousand other thirsty applicants vying for the chance to be underpaid and overworked. Above all else, it is a profit-mongering, soul-crushing monster masquerading as an altruistic, benevolent entity. I wish I knew more about its shady budgeting process, but someone is performing some kind of miracle so that the company can (for at least the last 10 years) never reach it's budget goals, use that as a reason to not pay it's managers and associates equitable pay, yet still give its executives bonuses. It's also, years after being called out as racist by the federal government, still completely racist and only values white leadership. And the ESOP is an actual joke. Working there will harm you for the rest of your life.
