Pros
Decent training, promotes quickly if people like you.
Cons
I developed horrible anxiety working at Chemonics because you simply can never do enough to please people. The "entrepreneurial" culture is extremely toxic and code for doing way more than you are paid for. The company engaged in very shady tactics over the last few years in rearranging pay and hierarchy to the detriment of staff. I managed someone the company was desperately trying to fire simply because he didn't fit it and was scolded for standing up for him. Bottom line, if you are not a cut throat careerist, I do not recommend working at Chemonics. Not to mention that the whole industry, besides being fundamentally Neo-colonial, is pushing increased corporate engagement with projects. No one is asking questions, they are just excited about the possibilities for "innovation" while they are literally designing our projects to maximize Pharma and big supply chain company involvement in aid programs.
