Pros

They are focusing on communities that need it the most. Faith is a big part of their culture

Cons

Leadership is either incompetent or malicious. They have made changes that squeeze physicians like me and put a lot of pressure on them. They have no idea what it has done to us on the ground. We have metrics that are inattainable and processes that increase admin burden 10x. They say it is to improve outcomes, but it seems it is more about generating more revenue and how much money they can save. It seems the owners want to sell as soon as they can. They tried to sell before and failed - why would they not want this now? Then what happens? It doesn't seem like they care

We are sorry you are feeling more pressure as a physician here at ChenMed. We take these comments and the comments in our surveys very seriously which is why we are currently working diligently to remove and reduce administrative burdens on our physicians and providers. We have a team working on this and studying which activities are most time consuming and prioritizing those first. We at ChenMed have more support staff and smaller patient panels for our physicians to also help. We will never stop working to improve. We are not positioning to sell - actually we are working to thrive in this constrained environment of Medicare Advantage.

Pros

Remote Work Flexibility: The ability to work from home offers a great work-life balance and a highly flexible day-to-day environment. Excellent Peers: The general staff and fellow employees are incredibly nice, professional, and great to collaborate with. There is a strong sense of peer-to-peer camaraderie.

Cons

Disrespectful Direct Management: My immediate supervisor frequently displays a disrespectful and condescending attitude toward direct reports. Constructive feedback is non-existent; instead, mistakes are met with public or private hostility rather than professional coaching. Complete Lack of Support: Management offers zero support when challenges arise. They provide no guidance or assistance leaving direct reports entirely on their own to figure things out.
