Pros

awesome coworkers, patients, and work family.

Cons

The company has values and things that, when interviewing, and hiring make this sound like a phenomenal opportunity. VIP CARE...but what they do not disclose, until after you begin working is...VIP care within reason, they load your schedule 20+ daily (even though your hired for a different number 12-16, check LinkedIN as well, they published the amount to work per day), you have to see all your own walkins, as well as walkins for other providers if they are busy...MOST days without lunch, mandatory meetings EVERY WEDNESDAY, patients scheduled at 730 DAILY, but most nurses don't come in til 8am, and you're patients sit and wait to be brought back. mandatory 5 minute huddles that last 12-15 minutes, still while your patients who are on time are still waiting in the lobby. EVERY DAY, and before EVERY MEETING you have to recite the values, mission etc, but honestly i felt awkward even reciting this, because to say and to do are 2 completely different things. any encounter with management, its related to numbers, how bad you're doing, and why haven't you done this or this or this to get more reimbursement. BIGGEST nurse/ma turnover rate I've ever seen. Constantly under the microscope. you can only prescribe "cost effective" medications, AKA, older meds. your NPI gets pulled withing the HMO plans and shows what you prescribe to the patients, them management wants to know why theyre on the medicatons and why you wrote it--you have no judgement on your own. Then when you can finally justify this one month, they send the same email the next month, and want to know why again. Overall, a big disappointment. The offers and pay are amazing, however, what you have to do to get and sustain these are not okay. Almost every provider in our office is over worked, on the verge leaving, or so unhappy. These concerns are brought up, but constantly being told to provider VIP care--but most days you have NO TIME to provider any type of care, yet alone VIP. you get 20 minutes per patient, but after the patient is finally roomed and avaialble to be seen, their "20 minute" appt slot was over 15 minutes ago. Appointment times? who needs them. you can show up whenever you'd like and STILL BE SEEN. you can be late and no show multiple times, and still be seen. If you're and hour late? you get placed as a walk in, and you have to give up your lunch to see the patients. there honestly is no work life balance. you're also constantly told to "minimize documentation" due to "never having a lawsuit within the company" but all of your patients are very sick and in need, that minimal documentation does a disservice to them. Referrals to specialists??? Every appointment with every patient, late or not, begins with "you never did this referral, no one told me, i didn't get authroizations, i have to cancel my specialist appointments 4 times, and finally i got the okay to go." you constantly have to put out fires, you constantly have to justify why your patients need specialist care, certain medications, etc. always on the chopping block. and lord knows, be prepared for an indept discussion if your patient has to go to the hospital. this is a "minor" list, it could continue on and on, but not worth it, this gives you the gist of it. Also when/if you do take employment. GET EVERYTHING IN WRITING, and make sure that these things are placed into your contracts. a lot of back and forth, as well as nit-picking to what the term "provider" means. if you're promised something, make sure you have it in print.

Pros

Remote Work Flexibility: The ability to work from home offers a great work-life balance and a highly flexible day-to-day environment. Excellent Peers: The general staff and fellow employees are incredibly nice, professional, and great to collaborate with. There is a strong sense of peer-to-peer camaraderie.

Cons

Disrespectful Direct Management: My immediate supervisor frequently displays a disrespectful and condescending attitude toward direct reports. Constructive feedback is non-existent; instead, mistakes are met with public or private hostility rather than professional coaching. Complete Lack of Support: Management offers zero support when challenges arise. They provide no guidance or assistance leaving direct reports entirely on their own to figure things out.
