Pros

-They have an awesome Mission. -They have a lot of good employees that love helping seniors. -They host a Town Hall. -You have a one hour lunch.

Cons

-HR and Leadership isn’t trustworthy. -Leadership doesn’t lead by a good example. -HR isn’t a safe place for employees to speak freely, without repercussions. -Employees don’t have a safe outlet. -HR and Leadership doesn’t want the staff to talk or make eye contact with the Chen’s when they visit. (Per Mrs. Jessica Chen her and he family love to receive pure and honest feedback from the staff, but they feel that when they visit office’s the staff are afraid to talk or look at them. But it’s because leadership tell you not to bother them, while they’re visiting). -HR is fully of lairs that will say anything on paper to make you look like you’re in the wrong. -When meeting with HR or Leadership I’d recommend you record the whole conversation, because they’ll lie and say that you discussed something that they know wasn’t discussed. - When having a complaint about leadership, the HR department isn’t a place you can go to, because it won’t be confidential. HR will tell leadership about the complaint and who made it. -HR has personal relationships with leadership, which is why a lot of employees are afraid to go HR about issues they encounter. -During Town Hall leadership doesn’t really want your honesty, they just wanna be able to say that they held one. If you speak during Town Hall you’ll be considered problematic. -You have Supervisors sending employees unwanted and very inappropriate texts. And making very insensitive comments about other employees. -They expect for you to be at work even when you’re sick (flu, head cold, and etc.) it seems as if the only valid excuse to them, are you being on death bed. -I personally don’t believe that the Chen’s are aware of the misconduct that their employees experience from the HR and Leadership team. -Your hard work is never enough, because they’ll always ask more of you, but they’ll never give you more. Or if you cant give them more, you’re the problem. -They don’t give you enough sick days, and IF you use all of hit sick days they require you to use your PTO. -They don’t apply their Core Values to their employees.

To our former team member: We’re very sorry your experience with us was not more positive. Despite your perception, we really do strive to live by our core values. We also request employee feedback frequently and take all feedback seriously. The situations you describe are contrary to the ChenMed culture and everything the Chen family and our executives believe. But perhaps the most inaccurate characterization is that ChenMed doesn’t care about its people’s health. As you know, ChenMed’s patients are more vulnerable to illnesses than any other segment of the population. We have been explicit that no one should come to work sick. Since the beginning of the pandemic, we have instituted screening requirements that prevent team members from entering a ChenMed facility unless they pass the screening. We also created new guidelines to help our higher-risk employees stay safe during these turbulent times, and supplemented employees’ sick bank with additional days when necessary. Efforts like these resulted in high marks for safety in our latest employee engagement survey. Speaking of the engagement survey, our overall scores are better than the industry average. In fact, in our last survey over 80 percent of our people indicated they love their jobs and are proud to work at ChenMed. Over 90 percent of respondents said they are inspired by the work we do. In addition to the survey, team members have a variety of options for sharing feedback – either through their local or market leaders or going straight to senior leadership without their local leaders knowing about it. We also encourage employees to come forward and report concerns through our compliance hotline where they can remain anonymous. Our company has a strong and clear anti-retaliation policy. This policy protects employees from any form of retaliation for filing a complaint in good faith or participating in an investigation. While I completely recognize that any one employee could have a negative experience at any company, we are proud of our people who are consistently leading with the integrity and commitment to our values and behaviors. Our data and employee feedback show that is the case. I appreciate the opportunity to set the record straight.

Pros

The pay is competitive, however the workload is very heavy. The company does put emphasis on a positive culture, but the teams are in constant fear of lay off, or being let go due to unrealistic productivity expectations

Cons

Bonuses are cancelled, changes are too often, everything is always a priority. The productivity expectations are unrealistic. The other thing is favoritism and nepotism, you will never advance if you are not friendly with certain people. It is very evident that the focus is not on talent when promotions are available.
