Pros
Integrated work environment where you get to work with operations, engineers, chemists, logistics all in one unified team. Casual dress or safety uniform. Committed to the safety of their employees. Every other Friday off to try and keep work life balance. You will have a stable job for awhile if you work at Chevron Oronite (downstream division of Chevron).
Cons
There are not very many opportunities for vertical growth in the company. A lot of people move laterally within the company and if you become a manager then you've been there a minimum of 10 years. Often times an obvious solution to fix an issue has been suggested for a long time but corporate is more focused on fixing the short term issue. It really takes a village to make any decision or recommendation for anything to change.
