Cons

I have no idea why they opened the Boston office. The company's culture is built around ideas that are from yesteryear (or Florida) and are out of whack with the Boston market. Working from home is looked down upon despite it being a common thing at almost every tech employer in 2017. They apparently think work can only be done from 9-5 in the office. The PTO policy is a joke and is designed not for tech employees, but for the call center people they churn through. There is also a lot of tension between the Florida and Boston offices with the FL people frequently saying Boston "doesn't work hard." On top of all of that, the benefits are also extremely weak, no 401k match, no transportation reimbursement, and you already missed the exit so no equity.

Pros

I am an artist and I get to do an art-related job. The schedule is flexible when things pop up. I get health insurance and 401k and a lot of free food, and there is free gym access in the office building. The people I work with are all generally very cool, friendly, and/or fun to work with.

Cons

The pay rate is below the industry standard for production artists. I am not able to afford a place of my own. I live with my parents and I work another job to supplement my income. I am basically surviving and able to pay all my bills, but I would not be able to live a full life on my own with the pay rate as it is now. The work culture portrays itself as progressive and inclusive place but it is the typical corporate toxic environment.
