When you join the firm with $x bonus, it can’t actually pay you that much because it cannot meet its target every year. Beware! Your bonus will keep shrinking. Whatever you negotiate before joining is useless. Also look at your contract carefully to make sure the first year bonus is guaranteed otherwise you will be in for a shock! This is a third tier firm at least 10 years behind competitors in every area: research, trading etc. And given how slow things move here it will only lag behind even further. Management got no clue what they are doing to improve performance. Morale is low everywhere after layoffs and lower bonus. Top talents have mostly left for better careers elsewhere.
