Pros

- depends on which team, work may be relaxed or stressful - some people are helpful - this firm may be more suitable for people who wants to rest / retire - “free” health insurance (HSA)

Cons

- my bonus not guaranteed each year, tied to firm performance - my bonus dropping year after year since 2022 - too much legacy systems - too many incompetent / slow coworkers in my opinion - no free lunch buffet but has a taxable lunch allowance which is not enough for me - breakfast option is very simple - slow in rolling out new systems and adapting to market conditions - way overstaffed, some teams not contributing much, keeps building useless things and forcing other teams to use - many deadweights - wasteful infra spending and inefficiency - systems are overengineered and complex - not focused, going in to many directions - leadership is weak and too soft - many subcultures: a leftover from the transition from a java shop to c++ HFT shop - uncompetitive firm, hired so many people too fast and unable to pay their target bonus

Pros

High-potential, high-caliber, low-ego environment. The people at the firm really embody the broader culture of the business. There is a cohesive plan that flows from the board level down to the day-to-day work each employee does. There is also a conscious effort to develop talent, which I really appreciate.

Cons

it's a culture led firm so by nature not a fit for everyone.
