Great work experience, but don't let it take up all of your free time if you're a student. - Assistant Manager Chick-fil-A Restaurants Employee Review

Pros

I actually left in 2004. Great food and great customer service training. If this is your first job, you will definitely (or should be depending on location and owner) be thoroughly trained in customer service. This was my first job in high school and I have never had a job since (even in my professional career after college) that had such great training and management. It's also very easy to work your way up if you show interest in doing so. Chick-fil-a provides great opportunities to grow quickly from a crew member to a team leader to an assistant manager, etc. It's also great to always have Sundays off.

Cons

-Must ask off within a certain amount of time and so if anything sudden comes up, you usually have to find your own replacement -There is alot of pressure to always be available to work and if you can't work certain days, you may have to list why -Employees are prohibited from discussing wages with each other so that you don't find out of you're underpaid or vice versa -Females are often paid less than males for the same job (yes this is true in most jobs, but it was horribly apparent at this particular location) -Uniforms are uncomfortable and unattractive -Must buy your own non-slip shoes -If you're a student in college or high school, beware of closing. Even if the store closes at 10pm, you will be there much later! When I was a junior in high school I would sometimes be there until almost midnight on week days. It was not until I told them my mom was upset about this that they stopped scheduling me to close almost every day. There was often to time to do homework as you would be scheduled to work as soon as school let out and often have to close the store.

Pros

Excellent work environment, lots of opportunity to move up the ladder at Chick-fil-A as a company, and the employees honestly make it such a fun place to work at!

Cons

Leadership at this location has been in transition for the past few months, which adds a bit of a challenge to team members. Once a new Store Operator steps in, leadership should be much smoother and stable.
