Pros

Good benefits, comparable pay to others in area.

Cons

Everybody in this hospital walks around with their noses in the air, from the nurses to the managers. Some of the leaders have never worked outside of children’s and it shows. They act like they are Gods gift to this earth and everybody is in competition with each other. Horrible culture. Nurses are there to give meds. There is zero critical thinking and trust in nursing staff. The doctors and providers also walk around with a stick up their you know what and talk down to the nurses. There is zero compassion or teamwork. I’ve worked at seven different hospitals and this is by far the worst in terms of culture. Care is subpar. I would never take my child here.

Pros

-great managers -non-interpreting staff very familiar working with an interpreter -policies and expectations set for most situations -exceptionally developed department (which includes a senior director) relative to other hospitals, which often lack even a basic interpreting department

Cons

-work volume; often few breaks, definitely not enough to do anything other than work-related tasks (e.g., study for class, make a personal phone call) -inflexible schedule -work flow heavily dependent on coworker proactivity -leadership structure (managers over leads over interpreters) can result in micromanagment
