Pros
• free meal every shift you work no matter the hour amount. • starts out at a good pay. Even underage, I was given 9.25 for my starting pay rather than minimum wage (8.15). • many of my coworkers had similar personalities and knew we were in the same sinking boat together. • fast-paced so the shift goes by rather quickly.
Cons
• false promises on moving up the ladder. • management not handled properly. • fast-paced and stress inducing. As a student, this stress on top of high school/ college classes becomes overwhelming. • pulled off of a break if they need you. My break should be fulfilled completely, not having to come back on within 10 minutes I go onto my break. :/ • NORWALK. Washing everything down with bleach. Help. Me. My hands will smell of bleach for days even when I use gloves. I understand the protocol, but it’s not fun. • our staff is overworked beyond belief because of the high demand and high turnover rate at our store. Most can’t handle the stress. The reason we lose most people is because not many can handle how stressful it is. • CRAPPY customers. I can’t stress this enough. The customers will cuss you out until both of your ears bleed. Be aware when walking into food service that customers are even more defensive about their food. I’ve had to suck it up and deal with it when I was told that they wanted to fight me. My manager did nothing when my coworker was threatened and she just wanted to call the police. You will find crappy customer service everywhere, but it’s even worse here. • no consideration for personal life. Life is stressful, but when it intervenes with work life, there should be a basis of understanding. Of course, a corporation is only going to care about what makes profit, but when the store prides themselves in caring for their workers, it shouldn’t be this way.
