Great mission, but is it sustainable? - Software Engineer ChowNow Employee Review

Product pushes lots of features and management pushes scalable changes, but blocked by legacy user who seems to still run the show. Eng and Prod don’t seem to be in alignment. Get blocked constantly and some PRs take months/year to get approval. Mission is great, but there are talks to support franchise restaurants and that is anti-mission statement. Push to cleanup code, but keep being told to add technical debt. Work life balance doesn’t seem possible when manager says to take time off and then messages you when sick or on vacation.
