Great place only if you have unlimited amount in your bank account and do not mind being poor for the rest of your live - Administrative Christie's Employee Review

"A salary of $58,450 or less annually is now considered low income in the New York Metro Area. If you are a single New Yorker earning $58,450 or less per year, you fall under the low income category, according to 2018 estimates released last month by the U.S. Department of Housing (HUD)" I cannot speak for executive level colleagues, but this is pretty insulting to many of us who have worked so hard to obtain univeristy/masters/some PhD degrees. Living in NY with a Christie's salary definitely requires 1) multiple roommates 2) mental preperation that you will have debt 3) parents helping you out 4) trust fund 5) marry rich. Christie's, I'd be curious to hear a response that is beyond "our salaries match the industry". Would the company ever provide subsized housing for employees? Allowance to purchase work clothes? (it's not like we can be sloppy during an auction)? Please enlighten us. Or maybe this is just a way the art industry "cleanse out" certain people
