Pros

I get to work with amazing kids beating insurmountable odds every day! The staff all try to work together to provide the safest most up to date treatments that are available and always striving to improve. We have ranked in the top 10 best pediatric hospitals for a number of years and each year we rank higher than the last! Management really tries to enable us to do our job-there is a great sense of fellowship and community when working with these kids. we work hard to make sure that the patient and their family are part of every decision.

Cons

Not being able to help every child beat what brings them here-but that's the nature of the beast working in a hospital, isn't it? We see some of the "sickest of the sick" here and many times we have to be at the forefront on deciding how to treat some of these kids. We see children newly diagnosed coming here for a treatment no one has ever attempted before-sometimes the patients and their families feel like guinea pigs or experiments but I don't see that as a negative-it gives hope to those who have no where else to go. Sometimes our hospital is the only place willing to take a chance on their child.
