Pros
Strong company, benefits are unbelievable. 4 day work weeks. The amount of various services we provide is dazzling and impressive, and all the partners (co-workers) I've personally met are friendly and supportive. Cintas will promote from within but The Management trainee program, however, used for a lot of jobs including health and safety directors, division heads etc, don't have much OR USUALLY ANY experience in their fields. Cintas requires a 4 year degree in anything to be a management trainee, so try to work for an inside promoted manager if you can. Employees are encouraged to run their route including scheduling with the customer and is pretty good at backing up what decisions you come up with. Cintas has a great free employee uniform program providing even work boots and jackets.
Cons
Company Motto is "We have a Spartan Approach". That deciphers to stingy at times. Sometimes things don't get repaired or replaced until it is broken and sometimes even dangerous. Often it seems that company meetings, sales meetings and safety meetings are all you do. It would be nice to get some work in between meetings, but that can be hard. National policies NEVER update. Even when common sense would dictate, some old rules and regulations are not updated. Even in very hot climates employees are not allowed to wear shorts becuase our some of our customers employees didn't used to have that option. We could actually make the shorts to Cintas specs since ALL employee apparel must be provided by Cintas to be in compliance. The same happens in the cold, and rain. You can be written up for wearing a raincoat, but CINTAS will not provide one for you. Salespeople are also driven hard and often oversell just to get the numbers up, then the Service Rep has to take the brunt of angry customers when they realize they are getting service more freqeuntly or excessively than they really need.
