Cons
You are not allowed to do any work between the hours of (when I left) 7:30am till 5:30pm. You are supposed to be out selling, that is it. If you show up to the plant senior management will ask why you are there and say "why aren't you out selling." Very discouraging work environment. You are not allowed to have facial hair. Suit and tie are required every day. I was there for 2 short years and in those 2 short years my entire team turned over including the manager. Everyone either left, was fired, or demoted. You have the same number to hit as every location in the country so you have these booming cities (Nashville, Austin, Raleigh) where reps are hitting goals with their eyes closed. Meanwhile struggling cities / rural America are left behind and told to "find a way" if they cannot hit the number. However managers have different goals to hit are held to different standard than the reps. I don't think anyone in senior management ever took a microeconomics class. Your PTO is questioned if you are behind on your number. (Last year 4 FS reps 2 MDRs 0 Uniform hit presidents club in my market), so basically everyone was behind on their number). Senior management has no idea how to forecast year over year. If your team is supposed to sell $1,000,000 but only sells $500,000, instead of adjusting the following year to make the goal realistic, they will will say we are raising it by 10% and tacking on the $500,000 we missed last year so the new goal is $1.6million. Then they fall even shorter and more people leave or are fired. Don't ever, ever, ever question management's ways. The second you do that you have a red mark on your name. Don't ever suggest anything, don't ever question anything, don't ever ask why certain things are done certain ways. Put your head down, say yes sir, yes m'am and go to work.
