Pros

Outstanding technicians. Good amount of autonomy for day-to-day work. You make your own schedule for the most part. I really enjoyed interacting with customers and seeing some very interesting places & businesses.

Cons

The main issue with Cintas is that they hire their managers straight from college or other industries as managers, not from their technicians. As such, their service managers have little to no industry knowledge. In other words, they don't hire managers from the technician ranks unless you have a college degree. These managers have little to no idea what they're talking about compared to the technicians who actually complete the tasks and understand exactly how long certain tasks take and what is required. Additionally, I have found that many managers have little to no integrity. They'll say & do whatever they need to in order to meet their sales/service quotas, please their supervisors, and advance their careers. It is very demoralizing to the technicians who actually care about the fire protection industry & customer service.

Pros

4 day work week and informed training

Cons

As an SSR, you're responsible for a lot; customer complaints, product shortages, bill discrepancies, customers that are in your face yelling/swearing. You are expected to give out your personal cell and email. With the average SSR having over 100 weekly clients, that's a lot of phone calls and emails, while you're already working a busy and physical job. They also claim you can make all these different bonuses. A lot of those bonuses are very small and capped. While I was there, I witnessed SSR's purposely overcharge clients on invoices just so that they could hit their numbers to attain a bonus. I did not enjoy having to have the same conversation over and over with clients that were overcharged.
