Pros
There's a good number of managers that are understanding, and a large majority of the regulars are cooperative when things go awry. On top of that, once a location had a healthy crew shifts go by in the snap of an eye. Truthfully working at a gas station is good work if you have a healthy crew, as you get to talk to interesting people all the time, and once a crew is settled in it feels like a very intimate work environment where everything gets done. On top of that, Circle K has benefits (you have to opt into them however, and it will come out of your paycheck for it.) for medical, retirement, and employee stock plans.
Cons
A ludicrous amount of people come in, and out. There are some employees that will stay in the company for decades, but for the most part until you get an established crew, you'll have a revolving door of coworkers. On top of that, corporate wants you to scan 50% of IDs which is unrealistic in locations where mostly elderly live without upsetting customers. Then on top of that corporate also asks that you take no breaks at all, which isn't unfeasible at a position like this, but doesn't make the job much sweeter. On top of that, the food you throw out you aren't allowed to eat because corporate says so. Another thing, for the first few months of working you are paid 50 cents less in a quarantine period, not an unusual practice but nonetheless one I'm not a fan of. Another thing, if you had a bad manager at Circle K you felt it. Truck orders wouldn't be properly filled, so the store would be severely under stocked, shifts would be out of order so the store would be dirty, and essential tasks would be unfinished. There was a time span where as a full time Lead Customer Service Representative I got as low as 20 hours work weeks for weeks on end! Sometimes it felt like it came down to luck if you had a good manager at the location, but even when you get that corporate can scoop them up, and send them to another location. So you would be stuck with a bad manager, and the once healthy crew would turn into a skeleton crew.
