Opportunity to grow and work on new technologies. Results-based bonus compensation.
Cons
Travel was insane - expected to hop on a flight at a moment's notice even to international destinations. This was very disruptive to the family. Also, when it came time to layoff 7,000+ employees, Cisco cancelled unvested stock, which was a significant amount of equity unfairly taken back. Stock bonuses were awarded based on past performance and vested as an incentive to keep the employee at Cisco. When Cisco changed course under new management, they should have let us keep our stock that we earned. Canceling our equity awards was an unethical move in my opinion. The company changed for the worse after John Chambers retired.
