Pros

CItigroup does offer a fair work/life balance - with management approval employees can generally work one a week from home, I never have a problem taking off a little early when there is an event at my child's school, etc. Benefits and vacation time are better than many other companies.

Cons

Communication from management is poor to dishonest, employees get better scoop from the WSJ. Tenured employees are paid less than new hires at the same level. Corporate culture is very harsh, political, and siloed

Pros

Hybrid schedule, supportive managers, opportunities

Cons

Once you’re in, comp basically plateaus. Layoffs are happening across the board, which tends to be the full-time culture of citi. The vibe is very much “run lean” until something actually breaks, and only then consider adding headcount. You have to be intentional about protecting your work-life balance, because the implicit expectation is that you’re always on—24/7, 365—without the support of a properly staffed team.
