      Pros

      I had a great opportunity to work with really smart people and make an impact in a rapidly changing business environment while at Citi CIB. Employees are given a lot of responsibility very quickly and recognized for their hard work and dedication. Management was responsive to the team's needs and always collaborated to work through problems or to reallocate work when people were overwhelmed with client needs.

      Cons

      The company is so large; there were many redundant initiatives going on and the company made organizational changes made too frequently; just as people would get used to new management or a name change or a group re-org, another came our way.

      Once you’re in, comp basically plateaus. Layoffs are happening across the board, which tends to be the full-time culture of citi. The vibe is very much “run lean” until something actually breaks, and only then consider adding headcount. You have to be intentional about protecting your work-life balance, because the implicit expectation is that you’re always on—24/7, 365—without the support of a properly staffed team.
