Pros

The best thing there for me was the quality of the people around me. With that said, upper management often was disconnected. The 401k 6% match with immediate vesting was also very good. Depending on which group you're in, work life balance can be good as well.

Cons

Commercial banking is in decline with relocations and outsourcing being performed. Wages also aren't going up. Even with a promotion, you won't get paid more. This isn't a Citibank problem exclusively though, the banking industry is changing. Lots of senior people continue to work there just so that they can hold on to their pension, otherwise, they would've jumped ship already. There is no longer a pension for junior analysts, so with no retention incentives, there is high turnover.

Pros

Strong global platform with exceptional exposure to complex clients, markets, and products. Citi offers significant opportunities to build an international career, work with highly talented professionals, and develop deep expertise in banking and financial services. The global network and breadth of the organization are major differentiators.

Cons

The size and complexity of the organization can create bureaucracy, fragmented decision-making, and lengthy internal processes. Organizational changes and frequent restructuring can also affect continuity, while navigating multiple stakeholders sometimes takes significant time and energy away from clients and business execution.
