Pros

Nothing. I knew I wanted to leave this company after 1 month.

Cons

My time at Citizens was nothing but cons/negatives. Let’s start with management: micro-managing to the highest degree, high-maintenance, and worst of all, they do not (and I can't stress this enough) care about you as a human-being. Oh, you've had a mental breakdown? Well, nobody told you to work that hard (actual words from management). Oh, you worked 10 hours today but didn't answer the phone at 7PM to do a tedious task that can absolutely wait until the next day? You're not "leaning in enough" (again, actual words from management). Management expects you to be at their beck and call, or else. Now don't get me wrong, upper management is hyper aware of the issues, which is good. So they buy employees swag and food often because they know how terrible the environment is. They KNOW what they put their employees through, but hey, we got you a sandwich, aren't you satisfied now? Speaking of being worked into the ground, the work/life balance is non-existent. Yes, you work at a bank that operates on EST hours, but working 8 hours means nothing. Working 10 hours means nothing. Working 12 hours - yup, you guessed it. Now don't get me wrong, the employees that are ok with this are alllllllll about the banking life. You could tell them that management hit you with their car, and they'd be on management's side. It's like they've been brainwashed because they all come from a previous bank (cough) and are used to this sell-your-soul environment. It's creepy. But they told you a hundred times "it's like a start up environment" - didn’t that define the job expectations? They expect it to. I was in no way prepared for my role, because if I had been, I would never have taken this job. All that being said, I did speak to management about the issues here, on more than one occasion. I even spoke to HR - their response was “I’m sorry this is happening to you”. What??? Do yourself a favor, don’t take a job here.

Pros

The pros are the benefits, the pay could be higher for all that you learn and have to go through for ten weeks. They offer tuition assistance and opportunity for upskilling and advancing in such little time and the remote flexibility is great too

Cons

Management sucks and of course they have their favorites and then they have the people they target like myself. They micromanage bad and are quick to give you an occurrence for nothing. Their systems are so slow and then they blame you for being five ten minutes late logging in. They want you to tell them when you get up to breathe, go to the bathroom and they push for you to take calls and know boatloads of info after on 3 weeks of training. What they don’t know is that I will sue for any wrong doings or discrimination and I keep records of everything
