Pros
I truly enjoyed my job with the City, though I attribute that to wonderful managers and supervisors. My team supervisor was flexible, communicative and very reasonable. That was not the case for others. My supervisor supported teleworking, though the City was attempting to get all to return to the workplace. Salary did NOT keep up with Raleigh’s rising cost of living, let alone inflation. And staff are consistently understaffed without necessary support, with upper management always demanding more. There was also no room for advancement - you either hope someone quits or retires. Benefits are good, that was a plus.
Cons
Stagnant salaries, return to in person work, cost of living/housing, NO PARKING at city offices (staff pay for parking or take public transit which is typically an hour+ for those outside the city)
