Pros
Great students who embrace the school's motto, "Challenge Convention, Change Our World." Celebrates diversity and supports LGBTQ faculty, staff, and students. Great benefits/vacation/time off. Reasonably flexible work schedule, and good work life balance. Many people across campus are great. Large number of international students creates a diverse and interesting environment. Great intellectual environment.
Cons
Administration does not really care about staff, more lip service. At least it feels that way. High staff turnover, including (lately) long-time staff. Little opportunity for advancement. Poor pay compared to other area colleges/universities. Always seem to hire young up and comers needing a first job, because they can pay them less than more experienced workers which creates lots of turnover. Staff instability makes it difficult to move departmental goals forward.
