There is a reason this company is always hiring! Turnover is a regular and ongoing issue. Don’t ignore the red flags and save yourself from being overworked, under appreciated, and under paid. They only care about their budget, money, and being liked! The Staunton office management specifically was observed to be unethical in business and with clients, unprofessional with staff, and very disorganized despite having high expectations for staff to be organized. They operate on a very old and outdated system and still utilized hard copies of documents as opposed to updating everything to electronic because of cost. The management in Staunton will treat you as expendable and push you out or fire you if they decide they don’t like you. They will blame you or accuse you of things without ever talking with you and will take punitive action. For a mental health company, one would expect a certain level of care, respect, and professionalism from LPCs but the psychopathology of the management is deep rooted and stems from a dark place of unhealthiness that never healed. They have no interest in using their degrees or credentials to serve or help others and instead create disunity and toxicity. Upper management appears oblivious or uninterested in listening to the many complaints from lower level staff. As a previous supervisor there, I regularly observed discussions around layoffs and firing staff “they didn’t like” or where referrals were low. I can’t stress enough how negative and toxic the work environment is! Enmeshment, clicks, discrimination, lying, and unprofessionalism are just a few of the issues I observed in management at Staunton. I left everyday emotionally and physically exhausted; looking for other job opportunities and just trying to ride it out until I could move on. Hopefully this is enough to deter any good honest working person from this company.
