Pros

Rehabilitation always could be a quality service to patients and a good career, with major overhaul of leadership/management strategies

Cons

Expensive medical benefits, no other incentives. Toxic culture with high turnover including lots of reporting and writing up with HR. Inappropriate referrals unable to tolerate therapy minutes. Therapists trained to lie on documentation to reflect patients as independent/ making more progress that actually indicated while working on the bottom of their license/doing CNA work since theres not even enough travel/agency nurses to keep shifts staffed with extra low census. Working on weekends/holidays/ no breaks/ working through lunches is part of the anti work-life balance culture. High levels of micromanagement, nepotism to other departments. Therapists do not get desks, wows, clipboards or any other basic supplies. Odd gym equipment ordered by corporate sits idle for months untouched and basic therapy gym equipment not available. Management aware and not concerned.

Pros

The people. The quality of care provided, plus the care of staff for the patients. Communication across disciplines is stellar. The commitment to provide the best care by all hospital employees is inspiring and encouraging. My boss/the CEO - he is the literal best boss I've ever had in a 27-year career.

Cons

It is a bit tricky trying to find coverage for PTO for my position.

Pros

Staff is often rewarded with drink bars, lunch, and treats.

Cons

The nurse to patient ratio is at times too much. Things as this happen when another staff calls in placing heavy work load on other nurses and on call manager does not come in to help or find a solution. The pay is terrible and not a fair pay amongst nurses as there is a lot of favoritism.
