Pros
I was an engagement manager during the year COVID disrupted the world. And COVID hit CV hard! It wasn't as much the infections, it was more the complete disruption in everyone's life. When combined with an aggressive sales team what decided to bid on projects regardless of our ability to execute, this resulted in a pretty horrible year for all at junior levels in CV. But, the company did make a lot of money and seems to have raised even more from their owners. They are expanding in Europe now, and part of me dreads how this CV culture will translate to Europe (Hint: Europeans do not appreciate sweatshop culture)
Cons
Understaffed and undertrained freshers man the front in CV. Not that they aren't good, just that they do not have the skills yet to perform. But, CV projects these freshers to clients as McKinsey level consultants and charges them McKinsey level hourly rates. The result in disappointing work that clients strongly pushback on. This results in a vicious cycle of engagement manager screaming at analysts and consultants and never ending work. At the end of the day you have massive burnouts and attrition
