Pros
- Exposure to the financial industry - Young, mostly hard working co-workers - Nice view of the city from the main office - Close to restaurants downtown - Green energy efficient building with great bathrooms
Cons
The owners care more about money than people and relationships. There is a long string of people who were forced out even though they had made significant contributions and had tried to work things out. It could have been a great story where the company does well and all those who did it were rewarded, but that's not the case. The strategy is to encourage young people to come work for cheap by telling them they'll be able to participate in the success of a fast growing company, implying a financial benefit. They have no intention of including anyone in the financial success of the company. Just a few people will get treated well enough, so that everyone else has something to hope for. If you're hoping that maybe this next year something will change, most likely you're just allowing them to string you along another year. If you're hoping for more than your salary or think you'll get rewarded in the future for your hard work and financial sacrifice, be careful. There are many much better places to work, get experience, earn money, and advance your career, even in Boise.
