Pros
It's a job with decent benefits and can be fun at times. It's also great if you like working downtown. When I first started I was more optimistic about career paths but it's limited regardless of how smart, ambitious or hardworking you are. There are a lot of great people here but no different than what you would see at other companies. There's a good training program around investment accounting but agree with other reviews that it will not really translate to many other companies or careers.
Cons
Unfortunately, the negative reviews are very accurate. And although some of the positive reviews have some truth, they appear to be written by HR to counter the negative. I also am female and agree that there's not a boys club but there most certainly is a church club. Since I've been here, I've seen great people in management who excelled in their positions, forced out to be replaced by someone in the club. I've also seen different treatment among employees and special treatment extended to those in the club. Yes, unfortunate and frustrating but it's the reality here and everyone has just learned to accept it. Depending on the group you are in, you could be expected to work extremelly long hours with no additional compensation.
