Pros
Cleo offered generous benefits, a flexible PTO policy, competitive perks, a livable salary, and some great company parties.
Cons
Management was in constant disarray, with people switching positions and leaving with no warning. Engineering operated as a loose anarchy. Supervisors were occupied with a never ending list of busy work from ever changing upper management, so there was little (if any) oversight of in progress work. Good luck getting help from a supervisor; it was easier to find a coworker who wasn't putting out a fire than deal with ignored messages and short-tempered responses. After the addition of an overseas engineering office, product quality became an afterthought. Producing somewhat functional code quickly enough to close a sale with the top priority. Projects were often abandoned midstream. More than one was abandoned within the final stretch. The great company parties are a pro, but the results could be a con. No expense was spared to put on big shows and lavish events multiple times a year. Unexplained employee purges continued for "budgetary reasons". Upward mobility in the company is only possible if you're willing to sacrifice your current job duties to pursue the position you'd like.
