Great Pay For What You Do - Reservation Agent Clipper Vacations Employee Review

Pros

This place is great if you want a good paying summer gig. Hourly plus commission. Easy products to sell. Not your typical call center. No metrics! Just sell and provide great customer service.

Cons

No real room for advancement here. Some reservation agents have been here since the company opened its doors in 1986. Morale can be negative at times mostly stemming from the old timers who feel the job is high stress. Conflicts between supervisors and agents are brushed under the carpet due to the fact that this company has no real HR department. Issues are discussed and then forgotten. Nepitism is prevalent and stronger agents are let go to keep upper management relatives employed. Ugly plastic polyester uniforms must be worn. Poor quality jackets and fleeces don't keep you warm in winter months. Late nights when weather is bad and sailings are canceled.
