Work on challenging problems with some very smart people. Good work life balance. Encourages writing about work you've done, support for standards work.
Cons
Compensation is below market after a few years and promotion is rare. Hiring comes from outside. HR makes promises about fixing this but doesn't follow through. Heavy favoritism: some teams get allowed to make problems for others, other teams bear the costs and aren't recognized.
