Pros
If you're looking to be a desk jocky, keep looking. If you enjoy a fast-paced, problem solving environment where to be successful you have to be engaged and in tune with your employees, this might be the career for you. I enjoyed developing my staff, troubleshooting day-to-day issues, and interacting with the customers. The benchmarks set by senior leadership were challenging, but not impossible. Direct engagement from my immediate superiors, ie: Area Managers and Regional Directors were frequent, and I always felt like I could reach out for advice or help with issues. It also resonated a lot that they were the first ones to jump in and get their hands dirty along side you when something hit the fan. Personal ownership and accountability are paramount to be successful. If you can consistently give that, you'll receive the support you need. Those that put in the work got noticed, and I applaud them for focusing on developing from within instead of bringing in external hires with wall art as their credentials.
Cons
Like with most companies there always felt like there was some disconnect between the executive group and the boots on the ground crew. Hours could be long, but they didn't go unnoticed. At times it felt like the business was growing too fast, and we would have to pull groups to help locations out of state, but this never lasted more than a week or two at a time.
