Pros

Great vacation, vision and medical benefits, generous company 401K match, aesthetically pleasing office environment. I learned how to write sale comparables and talk knowledgably about commercial real estate with people on every side of the business.

Cons

The company culture, particularly in the DC Research office, is toxic. Much of that comes from the company's structural disorganization and inability to hire and retain strong leaders at the VP level. The metrics system (i.e. bonus structure) is only minimally overseen by HR (and even that is an improvement over what used to be). Managers, whether promoted from within or recruited from outside, have very little control over their sections and are essentially mouthpieces/puppets for upper management. Advancement is highly dependent on your manager and director being willing to advocate for you - without their support, even a lateral move is difficult. Like many former CoStar employees, I left with a mild case of professional PTSD.

Pros

I worked for Homes.com - Great first job out of college to learn a lot about sales and can make good money in the first 3 months - FIND PEOPLE THAT HAVE DONE THIS JOB AND HAVE LEFT AND FIGURE OUT WHY CUZ THEY'LL TELL YOU

Cons

I worked for Homes.com - You're doing 3 jobs in one and the pay does not reflect that - it is churn and burn. The average tenure here is 7 months - Management doesn't know what's going on 3/4 of the time. It is all up to the CEO and he's on his private jet more than 3/4 of the time
